Construction in Logs
This log cottage is built with solid local wood (Douglas fir from Corrèze), in the traditional style of Scandinavian or North American log cabins. This construction technique uses raw wood logs, usually of large diameter, stacked on top of each other and carefully fitted to create a strong and durable structure.
The result is an ecological, comfortable, and warm house that combines tradition and modernity.

Sensitive to environmental issues and to better respect the surrounding nature, the cottage was built to RT2012 standards. The house’s layout, insulation, and exposure of the living areas were designed with this in mind. The roller shutters cut off the sun on the glass facade of the ground floor in the height of summer. Wood facilitates the integration of the house into its environment. The ground floor rooms have electric roller shutters for obscuration and insulation if necessary.
Upstairs, they are replaced by blackout curtains. The logs with a diameter of 30-40 cm provide natural insulation. If necessary, air conditioning helps preserve the comfort of the residents.
The taps have a water-saving device, and the flushes are dual-flush.
